Rupert Grössinger

Der österreichische Bassbariton Rupert Grössinger wurde in Salzburg geboren und studierte an der dortigen Universität Mozarteum sowie an der Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London. Er erhielt das Gianna-Szel-, das Emanuel-und-Sofie-Fohn- sowie das Richard-Wagner-Stipendium. Darüber hinaus war er Stipendiat des Guildhall Trusts und des London Goodenough Trusts.

Zu den Höhepunkten seiner Karriere gehören das Debüt 2020 an der Semperoper Dresden als Hermann Ortel in »Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg«, die Rolle des Ascanio Petrucci in »Lucrezia Borgia« am Théâtre du Capitole de Toulouse 2019 und die Partie des Jungen Fähnrich in »Die Soldaten« an der Mailänder Scala 2015.

Rupert Grössinger war bereits mehrere Male bei den Osterfestspielen Salzburg zu Gast. Sein Debüt gab er 2017 in der Bariton-Partie in Michael Sturmingers Inszenierung von Salvatore Sciarrinos Oper »Lohengrin«, 2018 war er als Sciarrone in »Tosca« und zuletzt 2019 als Hermann Ortel in »Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg« zu erleben.

The Austrian bass-baritone Rupert Grössinger was born in Salzburg and studied at the Mozarteum University there and at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London. He was awarded the Gianna Szel, Emanuel and Sophie Fohn and Richard Wagner scholarships. He was also a fellow of the Guildhall Trust and the London Goodenough Trust.

Highlights of his career include his 2020 debut at the Semperoper Dresden as Hermann Ortel in »Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg«, the role of Ascanio Petrucci in »Lucrezia Borgia« at the Théâtre du Capitole de Toulouse in 2019 and the role of the Young Ensign in »Die Soldaten« at La Scala in Milan in 2015.

Rupert Grössinger has already appeared several times at the Salzburg Easter Festival. He made his debut in 2017 in the baritone role in Michael Sturminger’s production of Salvatore Sciarrino’s opera »Lohengrin«, in 2018 he appeared as Sciarrone in »Tosca« and most recently in 2019 as Hermann Ortel in »Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg«.
