Angelo de Leo

Angelo de Leo erhielt seinen ersten Geigenunterricht im Alter von sechs Jahren. Bereits fünf Jahre später wurde er Jungstudent an der Musikhochschule Stuttgart, 2015 wechselte er an die Karajan-Akademie der Berliner Philharmoniker in Berlin.
Der mehrfache Preisträger internationaler Wettbewerbe begann eine umfangreiche Konzerttätigkeit als Solist und Kammermusiker. Es entstanden Rundfunkaufnahmen für den Bayerischen Rundfunk, den NDR und das Deutschlandradio. Er erhielt Einladungen zu renommierten Festivals, wie dem Heidelberger Frühling, den Festspielen Mecklenburg-Vorpommern und dem Schleswig-Holstein-Musikfestival. Angelo de Leo, seit Februar 2018 Geiger der Berliner Philharmoniker, ist Stipendiat der Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes, des Vereins LiveMusicNow und der Deutschen Stiftung Musikleben, die ihm als Preisträger des Wettbewerbs des Deutschen Musikinstrumentenfonds eine Violine von Giovanni Francesco Pressenda, Turin 1829, zur Verfügung stellt. Zudem ist er Mitglied der Philharmonischen Streichersolisten Berlin und der Philharmonischen Camerata.

Angelo de Leo received his first violin lessons at the age of six. Five years later he was accepted as a junior student at the Stuttgart University of Music and in 2015 he continued his studies at the Karajan Academy of the Berliner Philharmoniker in Berlin.
The multiple prizewinner of international competitions began a busy concert career as a soloist and chamber musician. He has made radio recordings for Bayerischer as well as Norddeutscher Rundfunk and Deutschlandfunk Kultur. He has been invited to renowned festivals such as the Heidelberger Frühling, the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival and the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival.
Angelo de Leo has played violin with the Berliner Philharmoniker since February 2018. He is a scholarship holder of the Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes, the Live Music Now association and the German Foundation for Musical Life, which provided him with a violin by Giovanni Francesco Pressenda, Turin 1829, as the winner of the German Musical Instrument Fund competition. He is also a member of the Philharmonic String Soloists Berlin and the Philharmonic Camerata.
