Ivan Estegneev

Ivan Estegneev gründete 2002 gemeinsam mit Evgeny Kulagin die Compagnie Dialogue Dance. Mit dem Ensemble entwickelte er über 30 Produktionen, drei davon wurden mit dem renommierten russischen Theaterpreis »Goldene Maske« ausgezeichnet. Ab 2012 war er Choreograph im Residenzprogramm des Gogol Centers in Moskau.

Seit 2022 lebt und arbeitet Ivan Estegneev in Deutschland, wo er an verschiedenen Institutionen unterrichtet, darunter an der Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg. Von 2022 bis 2025 war er Gastchoreograph am Thalia Theater Hamburg und arbeitete an Produktionen wie »Der schwarze Mönch«, »Der Wij«, »Barocco«, »LEGENDE« und »Geschlossene Gesellschaft«.

2023 choreographierte er die Aufführung »Apocalypse Tomorrow« für die Compagnie KIRILL & FRIENDS. 2024 feierte sein Soloprogramm »Die Trauer des Dämons« in Hamburg Premiere und war anschließend auf mehreren europäischen Festivals zu sehen. 2025 choreographierte er »The Listeners« am Aalto Theatre Essen, »Don Giovanni/Requiem« an der Komischen Oper Berlin sowie »Der Schneesturm« am Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus.

Ivan Estegneev co-founded the Dialogue Dance Company in 2002 together with Evgeny Kulagin. With the company, he developed more than 30 productions, three of which were awarded the prestigious Russian theatre prize »Golden Mask«. From 2012 onwards, he worked as choreographer in residence at the Gogol Center in Moscow.

Since 2022, Estegneev has been living and working in Germany, where he has taught at different institutions including the University of Music and Theatre Hamburg. From 2022 to 2025, he was engaged as a guest choreographer at the Thalia Theater Hamburg, collaborating on projects such as »Der schwarze Mönch«, »Der Wij«, »Barocco«, »LEGENDE« and »Behind Closed Doors«.

In 2023, he choreographed the performance »Apocalypse Tomorrow« for the company KIRILL & FRIENDS. In 2024, his solo performance »The Demon’s Mourning« premiered in Hamburg and was shown at several European festivals. In 2025, he was engaged for the opera »The Listeners« at the Aalto Theatre Essen as well as for »Don Giovanni/Requiem« at the Komische Oper Berlin and »The Blizzard« at the Schauspielhaus Düsseldorf.
