Marzi Nyman

Der finnische Multi-Instrumentalist Marzi Nyman gilt als »Chamäleon der Musik« und begeistert dabei in unterschiedlichen musikalischen Kontexten. Nyman ist nicht nur als Gitarrist in mehreren Bands aktiv, sondern auch als Komponist für Film, Fernsehen und Orchester tätig und hat bereits bei fast 40 Alben mitgewirkt.

Seine Arbeit als Filmmusik-Komponist umfasst den Soundtrack zum Film »Empire« aus dem Jahr 2004, bei dem er auch als Dirigent eines Orchesters und als Gitarrist tätig war. Zudem komponierte er Musik für das Vaasa City Orchestra und die Guards Band. Nyman spielte außerdem in mehreren Ensembles, darunter das Lenni-Kalle Taipale Trio und das Anna-Mari Kähärä Orchestra. Für sein musikalisches Schaffen erhielt er den Teosto-Preis und den Kulturpreis der Stadt Espoo. Seit 2012 ist er als Dirigent der Espoo Big Band tätig.

Im Jahr 2022 komponierte er Musik für die Theaterstücke »Faust« und »Aleksis Kivi« am Finnischen Nationaltheater in Helsinki. Bei den Osterfestspielen Salzburg ist Nyman in diesem Jahr zum ersten Mal zu erleben.

Nyman is not only active as a guitarist in several bands, but also works as a composer for film, television and orchestra and has already contributed to almost forty albums.

His work as a film music composer includes the soundtrack to the 2004 film »Empire«, for which he also conducted an orchestra and played guitar.
