Valerio Contaldo

Valerio Contaldo wurde in Italien geboren und wuchs im Kanton Wallis in der Schweiz auf. Nach einer Ausbildung zum klassischen Gitarristen am Konservatorium von Sitten und an der Ecole Normale Alfred Cortot in Paris studierte er Gesang am Konservatorium von Lausanne. Während seines Studiums war er Preisträger der Stiftungen Madeleine Dubuis und Solidarvox in Sitten sowie der Stiftung Colette Mosetti in Lausanne. Zu seinen Engagements zählen Testo in »Combattimento«, die Partien von de Ferrau und Astolfo in »Il Palazzo Incantato« an der Opéra de Nancy und Versailles, Morphée in »Atys« am Grand Théâtre de Genève sowie Jonas in »Le Prophète« beim Festival d'Aix-en-Provence. Valerio Contaldo war bei zahlreichen Konzerten und Tourneen mit der Cappella Mediterranea, dem Accentus, dem Ensemble Correspondances und dem Orchestre de la Suisse Romande zu erleben und trat bei renommierten europäischen Festivals auf wie etwa dem Festival von Flandern, dem Rheingau Festival oder den Folles Journées de Nantes. In dieser Sasion gab er sein Debüt an der Mailänder Scala in »Alcina« und auch bei den Osterfestspielen ist er 2024 zum ersten Mal zu erleben.

Valerio Contaldo was born in Italy and grew up in the canton of Valais in Switzerland. After training as a classical guitarist at the Sion Conservatory and at the Ecole Normale Alfred Cortot in Paris, he studied singing at the Lausanne Conservatory. During his studies, he won prizes from the Madeleine Dubuis and Solidarvox foundations in Sion and the Colette Mosetti Foundation in Lausanne. His engagements include Testo in »Combattimento«, the roles of de Ferrau and Astolfo in »Il Palazzo Incantato« at the Opéra de Nancy and Versailles, Morphée in »Atys« at the Grand Théâtre de Genève and Jonas in »Le Prophète« at the concert performance at the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence. Valerio Contaldo has appeared in numerous concerts and on tour with the Cappella Mediterranea, the Accentus, the Ensemble Correspondances and the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande and has performed at renowned European festivals such as the Festival of Flanders, the Rheingau Festival and the Folles Journées de Nantes. This season, he made his debut at La Scala in Milan in »Alcina« and will also appear at the Easter Festival for the first time in 2024.
