Judit Kutasi

Judit Kutasi wurde im rumänischen Timisoara geboren. Sie studierte an dem dortigen Colegiul Național de Artă »Ion Vidu« Gesang, Klavier und Cello. In der Saison 2013/2014 war die Mezzosopranistin Teil des Internationalen Opernstudios des Opernhauses Zürich und direkt anschließend bis 2016 festes Ensemblemitglied der Oper. Judit Kutasi war Walter-Sandvoss-Stipendiatin des Förderkreises der Deutschen Oper Berlin in der Saison 2016/2017 und ist seitdem an der Deutschen Oper eine gefeierte Gastkünstlerin. Zu ihrem Repertoire zählen Laura in »La Gioconda«, Ortrud in »Lohengrin«, Preziosilla in »La forza del destino«, Ulrica in »Un ballo in maschera«, Amneris in »Aida« und die Prinzessin von Bouillon in »Adriana Lecouvreur«. Engagements führten sie ans Gran Teatre del Liceu, an die Opéra national de Paris, die Scala, die Bayerische Staatsoper, die Arena di Verona, an die San Francisco Opera und die Metropolitan Opera in New York. Bei den Osterfestspielen gibt Judit Kutasi 2024 ihr Debüt.

Judit Kutasi was born in Timisoara, Romania. She studied voice, piano and cello at the Colegiul Național de Artă »Ion Vidu« there. In the 2013/14 season, the mezzo-soprano was part of the Zurich Opera's International Opera Studio and immediately afterwards a permanent member of the ensemble until 2016. Judit Kutasi was a Walter Sandvoss scholarship holder of the Förderkreis der Deutschen Oper Berlin in the 2016/17 season and has been a celebrated guest artist at the Deutsche Oper ever since. Her repertoire includes Laura in »La Gioconda«, Ortrud in »Lohengrin«, Preziosilla in »La forza del destino«, Ulrica in »Un ballo in maschera«, Amneris in »Aida« and the Princess of Bouillon in »Adriana Lecouvreur«. Engagements have taken her to the Gran Teatre del Liceu, the Opéra national de Paris, La Scala, the Bavarian State Opera, the Arena di Verona, the San Francisco Opera and the Metropolitan Opera in New York. Judit Kutasi makes her debut at the Easter Festival in 2024.
