Michele Pertusi

Michele Pertusi wurde in Parma geboren, wo er am Konservatorium Arrigo Boito Klavier und Gesang studierte.Er hat sich als herausragender Interpret von Verdis Rollen wie Filippo II in »Don Carlo«, Pagano in »I Lombardi alla prima crociata«, Sparafucile in »Rigoletto«, Zaccaria in »Nabucco« und Banco in »Macbeth« etabliert. Jüngste Höhepunkte sind »Aida« und »Il barbiere di Siviglia« in der Arena di Verona, Verdis »Messa da Requiem« an der Opéra de Lyon, »Lucia di Lammermoor« am Teatro alla Scala, »Medea« an der Metropolitan Opera und »I Capuleti e i Montecchi« bei den Salzburger Festspielen. Im Februar 2005 gewann er den Grammy Award für die beste Opernaufnahme in der Titelrolle von Verdis »Falstaff« mit dem London Symphony Orchestra. 2018 wurde er beim Festival della Valle d’Itria in Martina Franca mit dem prestigeträchtigen »Rodolfo Celletti«-Preis ausgezeichnet. Michele Pertusi gibt im Verdi Requiem sein Debüt bei den Osterfestspielen Salzburg.

Michele Pertusi was born in Parma, where he studied piano and singing at the »Arrigo Boito« Conservatory. He has established himself as an outstanding interpreter of Verdi's roles such as Filippo II in »Don Carlo«, Pagano in »I Lombardi alla prima crociata«, Sparafucile in »Rigoletto«, Zaccaria in »Nabucco« and Banco in »Macbeth«. Recent highlights include »Aida« and »Il barbiere di Siviglia« at the Arena di Verona, Verdi's »Messa da Requiem« at the Opéra de Lyon, »Lucia di Lammermoor« at the Teatro alla Scala, »Medea« at the Metropolitan Opera and »I Capuleti e i Montecchi« at the Salzburg Festival. In February 2005, he won the Grammy Award for the best opera recording in the title role of Verdi's »Falstaff« with the London Symphony Orchestra. In 2018, he was honoured with the prestigious »Rodolfo Celletti« prize at the Festival della Valle d'Itria in Martina Franca. Michele Pertusi makes his debut at the Salzburg Easter Festival with the Verdi Requiem.
