Biographie

The American tenor Theo Lebow completed his vocal training at the Mannes College of Music in New York. He then attended the renowned Young Artists Programmes in San Francisco and Santa Fe. Here he was honoured with the »Richard Tucker Foundation Encouragement Award«.

The singer is a member of the Frankfurt Opera, where he has enjoyed success in a wide variety of roles, including Tamino in »Die Zauberflöte«, Massimo in »Ezio« and Tom Rakewell in »The Rake’s Progress«, and most recently, he made his acclaimed debut in Frankfurt in the title role in Rossini’s »Otello«.

Lebow also enjoyed much success as Sumers in »L’italiana in Londra« and as Contareno in »Bianca e Falliero«, which he also sang at the Tyrolean Festival Erl in the summer of 2022. He impressed as Lanciotto in Saverio Mercadante’s »Francesca da Rimini« and as the Maler/Freier in »Lulu«. Guest appearances have taken him to the USA as Count Almaviva in »Il barbiere di Siviglia« and as Don Ramiro in »La Cenerentola«.
