Tian Gao

Tian Gao wurde in Wuhan, China, geboren und studierte am Wuhan Conservatory of Music, der Minzu University of China in Peking und der Folkwang Universität der Künste in Essen. Nach ihrem Abschluss arbeitete sie mit Compagnien und Künstlerinnen und Künstlern wie dem Tanzkollektiv Laborgras, Michael Laub / Remote Control Productions und dem Paper Tiger Theater zusammen. Seit 2018 tanzt sie bei Sasha Waltz & Guests und wirkt seither in diversen Stücken der Compagnie mit. Seit 2022 ist sie Ensemblemitglied. »River/江/Fluss«, ihr erstes abendfüllendes Werk als Choreographin, wurde 2022 beim Podium Festival Esslingen uraufgeführt und im Tanzhaus NRW in Düsseldorf gezeigt. Neben ihrer künstlerischen Praxis unterrichtet Tian Gao Improvisation und Komposition und hat bereits mehrere Workshops und Forschungsprojekte in Wuhan und Berlin realisiert.

After graduating, she worked with companies and artists such as the dance collective Laborgras, Michael Laub / Remote Control Productions and Paper Tiger Theater. Since 2022 she is a member of the ensemble. »River/江/Fluss«, her first full-length work as a choreographer, premiered at the Podium Festival Esslingen in May 2022 and was shown at the Tanzhaus NRW in Düsseldorf in September 2022. In addition to her artistic practice, Tian Gao teaches improvisation and composition and has hosted several workshops and research projects in Wuhan and Berlin.
