Chor des Bayerischen Rundfunks

Der Chor des Bayerischen Rundfunks gilt als Ensemble von weltweitem Renommee. Seit Herbst 2023 ist Sir Simon Rattle Chefdirigent von BR-Chor und dem Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks (BRSO). Als künstlerischer Leiter prägt Peter Dijkstra das vielseitige musikalische Profil des Chores. Regelmäßig tritt der Chor in Veranstaltungen des Bayerischen Rundfunks mit den zwei Orchestern sowie in der eigenen Abonnementreihe in München und im bayerischen Sendegebiet auf.

Präsent ist der BR-Chor auch in wichtigen internationalen Musikzentren von Wien über Mailand bis Amsterdam. Partner sind dabei namhafte Orchester und Festivals. Vielfach bringt der Chor Uraufführungen zu Gehör, pflegt aber auch eine historisch informierte Aufführungspraxis mit Originalklang-Ensembles. Auf dem Tonträgermarkt ist er bei angesehenen Labels vertreten. Für seine CD-Einspielungen erhielt er hochrangige Auszeichnungen, so mehrfach den Diapason d’or oder den ICMA 2024 für André Caplets »Le miroir de Jésus« sowie den ICMA 2025 für eine Einspielung von Anton Bruckners Messe in e-moll.

The Bavarian Radio (BR) Chorus is an ensemble of worldwide renown. Sir Simon Rattle has been Chief Conductor of the BR Chorus and the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra (BRSO) since autumn 2023. As Artistic Director, Peter Dijkstra shapes the versatile musical profile of the chorus. There are regular performances by the chorus in events organised by Bayerischer Rundfunk with the two orchestras, the BRSO and the Munich Radio Orchestra, as well as in its own subscription series in Munich and in the Bavarian broadcasting region.

The BR Chorus is also present in important international music centres from Vienna to Milan and Amsterdam. Its partners there include well-known orchestras and festivals. The chorus frequently performs world premieres, but also cultivates historically informed performance practice with period instrument ensembles. It is represented on the recording market by respected labels. It has received prestigious awards for its CD recordings, including the Diapason d’or or the ICMA 2024 for André Caplets »Le miroir de Jésus« and the ICMA 2025 for a recording of Anton Bruckner’s Mass in E minor.
