Terms and Conditions

1. General

These terms and conditions have sole validity when buying tickets for the Salzburg Easter Festival; any conflicting conditions on the part of the purchasers of tickets are here expressly excluded.

2. Prevention plan and safety regulations

The Salzburg Easter Festival is extremely aware of its responsibility when holding its events. The prevention plan approved by the health authorities will be adapted to the respective situation as necessary.

3. Buying tickets and procedure for the allocation of tickets for Patrons

Patrons of the Salzburg Easter Festival receive preferential treatment when ordering tickets, general sales and the web shop begin on 1 October 2024.

4. Placement

For organisational reasons, the Salzburg Easter Festival retains the right to assign visitors different seats from those stated on their tickets, though in the same ticket category. Visitors must also comply with any instructions given by the staff at the performance venue.
When ordering a wheelchair seat, visitors must inform the Easter Festival whether a nearby seat is necessary for an accompanying person.

5. Right of withdrawal

The right of withdrawal in distance selling, in accordance with § 11 of the Distance Selling Act (FAGG) does not apply to the purchase of entrance tickets, since these are classed as leisure services in accordance with the Distance Selling Act, § 18 (1) Z 10 FAGG.

6. Dispatching tickets

Tickets are usually sent by post or e-mail for a handling fee which is charged per order. The recipient is responsible for paying any transfer costs. These conditions may vary, depending on the delivery situation in the home country of the purchaser. If the purchaser prefers, the tickets may be picked up in person at the Ticket Office of the Salzburg Easter Festival, or at the box office before the performance, but this must be specified when placing the order. Whenever possible, tickets should be picked up from the Ticket Office in advance of the performance in order to avoid large gatherings of people and long waiting times at the evening box office. As of three weeks before the first performance, no more tickets will be sent; visitors are kindly requested to pick them up at the Ticket Office in Salzburg.

print@home tickets

We recommend using the new possibilities for printing tickets at home. Such a ticket is only valid when it is printed on an A4 sheet of paper and is in good condition.

7. Payment

Invoices must be paid within the given payment period, stating the payment reference. The Easter Festival accepts the following credit cards (both online and at the Ticket Office): Mastercard, American Express, Diners Club, Visa and JCB. It is also possible to pay by bank transfer (with all transfer fees to be borne by the purchaser), or by cash on the spot in Salzburg using a debit-card terminal (e.g. with a Maestro Card). Payment at short notice before a performance is only possible using a credit card, cash or debit card. All prices are given in euros and include the statutory value added tax.

8. Returning and exchanging tickets

Ticket purchases are binding in every form. It is the client's responsibility to check the invoice before payment. It is not possible to reserve an option on tickets, nor is it possible to return or exchange tickets that have been purchased. An offer of tickets becomes binding only when it is actively accepted by the customer, and otherwise expires at the time specified.

Tickets may be returned to be resold on a commission basis (without guarantee of sale), but only for sold-out performances and by Patrons; a commission fee of 15% of the ticket price will be charged. To this end, the original entrance tickets must be submitted.

It is not possible to apply a discount if the tickets have already been paid for.

It is the customer’s responsibility to check the details on the entrance tickets immediately after receipt. If any mistakes should be found, the Ticket Office must be contacted immediately.

Tickets that have expired will not be replaced.

9. Replacement tickets in case of loss

Only the purchaser of tickets may apply for replacement tickets. They must do so in writing and must provide the receipt and an ID with photo. In cases of doubt, the replacement tickets will have priority over the original tickets.

10. Vouchers

Vouchers may be redeemed at the Ticket Office of the Easter Festival in Salzburg by the date stated on them. No guarantee can be given for tickets for specific performances or seats. It is not possible to exchange vouchers for cash.

11. Commercial and private resale or transfer of tickets

Purchasing entrance tickets in order to resell them for commercial or business purposes or in order to transfer them to others is forbidden without obtaining the prior consent of the Salzburg Easter Festival. In cases where this consent is given, paragraph 4 above still applies. It is also not permitted to offer entrance tickets for sale via Internet auction sites or marketplaces, nor to offer them publicly on the radio, in the media or otherwise. The Salzburg Easter Festival reserves the right to refuse to sell entrance tickets in future to people who contravene this ban, and the Easter Festival also reserves the right to block current entrance tickets without providing any replacement.

12. Changes to the cast or programme

Changes to the cast or programme, or changes to starting times, do not entitle people to return their entrance tickets. If changes do occur, the Salzburg Easter Festival will do its best to notify ticket holders accordingly, within a reasonable timeframe. However, it is the responsibility of the ticket holders to inform themselves about any possible changes. The most up-to-date information can be found on our website.

13. Cancellation of performances

If a performance is cancelled, the customer will be reimbursed for the full amount of the ticket price, and if a performance begins but is stopped, he or she will receive a proportionate amount of the ticket price. No further claims by the customer will be allowed if the Salzburg Easter Festival was not responsible for the cancellation of the event. The original entrance ticket must be returned within three months after the cancelled performance in order for reimbursement to take place. After this date, any claims will be void.

14. Photographs, video and audio recordings during performances

All manner of photography, video and sound recordings are forbidden during performances of the Salzburg Easter Festival. The use of mobile phones is similarly forbidden. In cases of non-compliance, the organiser has the right to confiscate and retain the device(s) in question until the end of the performance.
Visitors to the Salzburg Easter Festival expressly give permission that any images or recordings made of them during the Easter Festival or in connection with it may be exploited in the media using any current or future technological procedures, without any temporal, material or territorial restrictions, and without any compensation to the visitors.

15. Validity of the venue-specific house rules

All venues of the Salzburg Easter Festival are subject to their specific house rules. By entering a performance venue, visitors and customers expressly accept the house rules of the venue in question.

16. Cloakroom, provisions for admittance

Coats, umbrellas, bags, rucksacks, similar bulky items, cameras and other recording equipment must be handed over to the appropriate cloakroom personnel. We recommend avoiding having to hand over large pieces of luggage.
Visitors arriving too late will only be admitted during the intervals. IDs for reduced ticket categories will be checked when visitors are admitted. Festive clothing should be worn.

17. Data protection provisions

The utilisation of personal data is regulated by the data protection provisions (for the data protection declaration, click here). The data protection provisions are an integral, binding component of these Terms and Conditions.

18. Final provisions

These Terms and Conditions are available in German and English. In cases where these two versions deviate, the German version shall be deemed authoritative. These Terms and Conditions are subject to Austrian law, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If a transaction is not a consumer transaction, the competent court in Salzburg is agreed to have exclusive jurisdiction.
