Es spielte das Mahler Chamber Orchestra. Mit dabei Michael Nagy in der Titelpartie und der Chor des Bayerischen Rundfunks.
Nach dem Konzert verlieh Intendant Nikolaus Bachler den von der Familie Karajan gestifteten Herbert-von-Karajan-Preis 2025 an den Dirigenten und die Mezzosopranistin Nadezhda Karyazina (Marfa in »Chowanschtschina«).
Das Konzertprogramm war 2025 so vielfältig wie nie - das Orchesterkonzert III schloss den Reigen mit Musik von Grieg, Tschaikowski und Schostakowitsch unter der Leitung von Gianandrea Noseda. Solist war Augustin Hadelich.
