Freddie De Tommaso

Nach seinem Abschluss an der Royal Academy of Music und dem anschließenden Besuch des Opernstudios der Bayerischen Staatsoper im Jahr 2019 betrat De Tommaso die Opernszene als Cassio in »Otello« am Royal Opera House und als Ismaele in »Nabucco« an der Niederländischen Nationaloper. Danach eröffnete er die Saison 2020-21 an der Wiener Staatsoper als Pinkerton mit einer Neuproduktion von »Madama Butterfly«. In der vergangenen Saison war De Tommaso als Rodolfo in »La bohème« am Teatro alla Scala, als Cavaradossi bei seinem US-Debüt an der Santa Fe Opera, als Macduff an der Wiener Staatsoper, als Alfredo an der Staatsoper Berlin und der Bayerischen Staatsoper zu erleben. Zu den jüngsten Höhepunkten zählen Ensemble- und Rollendebüts am Teatro alla Scala als Maurizio in »Adriana Lecouvreur«, an der Wiener Staatsoper als Don José und an der Arena di Verona als Alfredo. Gemeinsam mit Lise Davidsen feiert er sein Debüt bei den Osterfestspielen Salzburg, mit ihrem erfolgreichen Liederabend Programm.

After graduating from the Royal Academy of Music and then attending the Opernstudio der Bayerischen Staatsoper in 2019, De Tommaso entered the opera scene as Cassio in »Otello« at the Royal Opera House and as Ismaele in »Nabucco« at the Dutch National Opera. He subsequently opened the 2020-21 season at the Vienna State Opera as Pinkerton in a new production of »Madama Butterfly«. Last season, De Tommaso appeared as Rodolfo in »La bohème« at the Teatro alla Scala, as Cavaradossi in his US debut at the Santa Fe Opera, as Macduff at the Wiener Staatsoper, as Alfredo at the Staatsoper Berlin and the Bayerische Staatsoper. Recent highlights include ensemble and role debuts at the Teatro alla Scala as Maurizio in "Adriana Lecouvreur", at the Vienna State Opera as Don José and at the Arena di Verona as Alfredo. Together with Lise Davidsen, he makes his debut at the Salzburg Easter Festival with their successful recital programme.
