Gianandrea Noseda

Gianandrea Noseda ist einer der weltweit gefragtesten Dirigenten, der für seine Kunstfertigkeit im Konzertsaal und im Opernhaus gleichermaßen geschätzt wird. Die Saison 2024/25 ist seine achte als Musikdirektor des amerikanischen National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) und seine vierte Saison als Generalmusikdirektor des Opernhauses Zürich. Seit 2016 ist er Principal Guest Conductor des London Symphony Orchestra. Im Jahr 2019 wurde er Gründungsmusikdirektor des Tsinandali Festivals und des Pan-Caucasian Youth Orchestra in Georgien.

Nosedas Führung verhalf dem NSO, das im Kennedy Center in Washington beheimatet ist, zu neuem Ansehen und führte zu internationalen Tourneen, Einladungen in die Carnegie Hall und das Lincoln Center in New York City, digitalen Übertragungen sowie zur Gründung eines Plattenlabels, das von LSO Live vertrieben wird. Er dirigiert die wichtigsten internationalen Orchester sowie in den bekanntesten Opernhäusern und bei Festivals und war in vielen Institutionen tätig, darunter das BBC Philharmonic, das Israel Philharmonic und das Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra sowie das Teatro Regio Torino.

Der in Mailand geborene Noseda ist Commendatore al merito della Repubblica Italiana, womit sein Beitrag zum künstlerischen Leben Italiens gewürdigt wird. Zu seinen Auszeichnungen gehören Musical Americas »Conductor of the Year« 2015, die Auszeichnung als »Dirigent des Jahres« bei den International Opera Awards im Jahr 2016 und die Auszeichnung als »Bester Dirigent« bei den OPER! AWARDS 2023.

Gianandrea Noseda is one of the world’s most sought-after conductors, equally recognized for his artistry in both the concert hall and opera house. The 2024/25 season marks his eighth as Music Director of the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO), and fourth season as General Music Director of Opernhaus Zürich. Since 2016, he has been Principal Guest Conductor of the London Symphony Orchestra. In 2019, he became founding Music Director of the Tsinandali Festival and Pan-Caucasian Youth Orchestra in Georgia.

Noseda’s leadership has reinvigorated the NSO which makes its home at the Kennedy Center. This renewed recognition and acclaim has led to international touring, invitations to Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, digital streaming, and the launch of a record label, distributed by LSO Live. He has conducted the most important international orchestras, opera houses and festivals and had significant roles at many institutions, including the BBC Philharmonic, Israel Philharmonic, Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, and Teatro Regio Torino.

A native of Milan, Noseda is Commendatore al Merito della Repubblica Italiana, marking his contribution to the artistic life of Italy. Further honours include Musical America’s »Conductor of the Year« 2015; International Opera Awards »Conductor of the Year« in 2016 and in 2023, OPER! AWARDS »Best Conductor«.
