Exclusively for Patrons of Salzburg Easter Festival: Trip to Helsinki
Artistic and culinary highlights in Helsinki
On the day of arrival (Tuesday), Nikolaus Bachler, artistic director of the Easter Festival, will personally welcome you at the legendary Hotel Kämp. A musical opening with musicians from the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra awaits you. This is followed by a guided tour of and an exclusive dinner at Helsinki's Art Gallery (Taidehalli). Wednesday is all about Helsinki: you start with a guided tour dedicated to the city's musical, architectural and historical sights. After returning to the hotel, you can enjoy your afternoon before we head off to the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra concert in the early evening. Maestro Nicholas Collon will greet you on site at an exclusive reception. The program combines music by the Brazilian contemporary composer Nelson Ayres (Timpani Fantasia/soloist Kazutaka Morita) with songs by Richard Strauss (soloist Louise Alder) and the 5th Symphony by Dmitri Shostakovich - after that, you dine close to the concert hall in a wonderful ambience.
The rugged south of Finland and national hero Jean Sibelius
On Thursday, around midday, you will set off on a leisurely guided tour through southern Finland, passing the most important places along the coast. With a view of the Baltic Sea, there is time for a coffee break with typical Finnish pastries. A journey to Finland's musical roots naturally leads to Jean Sibelius's home in Ainola. After a tour of the property, another highlight awaits us: a private concert on Jean Sibelius' grand piano. You will end the evening and the trip in a 2-star Michelin restaurant above the rooftops of the Finnish capital with a classy 5-course meal.
