Michael Nagy

Bariton Michael Nagy studierte Gesang, Liedgestaltung und Dirigieren in Mannheim und Saarbrücken. Er war Ensemblemitglied der Komischen Oper Berlin und der Oper Frankfurt. Gastspiele führten ihn an die Deutsche Oper Berlin, die Wiener Staatsoper, das Grand Théâtre de Genève, das Opernhaus Zürich, die Opéra national du Capitole in Toulouse, Den Norske Opera in Oslo, die New Yorker Carnegie Hall sowie zu den Festspielen in Salzburg, Bayreuth und Baden-Baden.

Zu seinem Repertoire gehören Partien wie Papageno (»Die Zauberflöte«), Graf Almaviva (»Le nozze di Figaro«), Wolfram von Eschenbach (»Tannhäuser«), Kurwenal (»Tristan und Isolde«), Don Alfonso (»Così fan tutte«), Jeletzki (»Pique Dame«), Valentin (»Faust«), Frank/Fritz (»Die tote Stadt«) und Jason in Aribert Reimanns »Medea« sowie die Titelpartien in »Don Giovanni« und »Owen Wingrave«. An der Bayerischen Staatsoper sang er u. a. Amfortas (»Parsifal«), Ratefreund (»Die Vögel«), Der Graf (»Capriccio«) sowie die Titelpartie in »Eugen Onegin«.

Im Konzertbereich mischt sich altbewährtes Repertoire wie das Brahms-Requiem mit der Aufführung des unbekannten Oratoriums »Weissagung und Erfüllung«. Eine zentrale Konzertform sind daneben Liederabende gemeinsam mit Gerold Huber oder Malcolm Martineau.

Baritone Michael Nagy studied singing, song interpretation and conducting in Mannheim and Saarbrücken. He was a member of the ensembles of the Komische Oper Berlin and the Frankfurt Opera. Guest appearances have taken him to the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Vienna State Opera, the Grand Théâtre de Genève, the Zurich Opera House, the Opéra national du Capitole in Toulouse, Den Norske Opera in Oslo, New York's Carnegie Hall and the festivals in Salzburg, Bayreuth and Baden-Baden.

In the concert repertoire, well-tried repertoire such as the Brahms Requiem is mixed with performances of the unknown oratorio »Prophecy and Fulfilment«. Song recitals with Gerold Huber or Malcolm Martineau are also central to Nagy’s career.
