Adam Cooper

Biography

Born in London, Adam Cooper trained at the Arts Educational School and The Royal Ballet School. Starting his career with The Royal Ballet, Adam then went on to pursue a career as a freelance performer and choreographer in dance, musical theatre, film, television, opera and operetta. More recently he has directed musicals for the Curve in Leicester, the Gärtnerplatz Theater in Munich, the Weitzenhoffer School of Musical Theatre of the University of Oklahoma, and the Oper Köln. He has performed and choreographed worldwide and won numerous awards including Evening Standard Dance Award, the Critics’ Circle National Dance Awards, the Fred Astaire Award and nominations for Tony and Olivier Awards. He was choreographer in »Sunny Afternoon« which won 4 Olivier Awards in 2015 including »Best New Musical«. Adam Cooper has also appeared in various TV and movies. In »Billy Elliott«, he appeared in the final scene as the adult protagonist.
