Herbert-von Karajan-Award 2024: Meet the Laureates
You have to do the hard work everyday throughout the year. There is no quick fix in singing unfortunatly, we have to work slow and sturdy and then I do believe, with a good technique one will be rewarded in the end.
Lise
Davidsen
The soprano trained at the Grieg Academy in Bergen and already has an impressive collection of awards to her name, to which she has now added the Herbert von Karajan Prize. Her appearances at the Metropolitan Opera, the Opéra national de Paris, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden and many more have made her one of the most sought-after singers in a very short space of time. Together with Freddie De Tommaso, she will make her Salzburg debut at the 2024 Easter Festival, singing songs and arias by Wagner, Verdi and Puccini, among others.
I am proof that you can make it and I am very happy that this can be a motivation for anyone out there.

Eve-Maud Hubeaux was born in Geneva and studied piano and singing in Lausanne. The mezzo-soprano can already look back on a remarkable career with many successful performances, including Amneris in "Aida" at the Salzburg Festival, Mère Marie in "Dialogues des Carmélites" at the Vienna State Opera and Carmen at La Monnaie Bruxelles. There are a lot of women in my life who have inspired and still inspire me in my career. There´s my mother who is the reason why I´m singing today (…) her support was the best thing that ever happened to me.
